WATER HOPE & "THE MAKE-DO CHALLENGE"

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2012

I hope you've had a great Sunday.
Maybe got the chance to attend a service,
watch one online or t.v. and receive what you needed.

We had a nice surprise in service today,
a rapping minister/missionary
from right here in California.

Now for our church this isn't out of the ordinary,
we love and thrive on whatever reaches the lost.
We've had many a rapper, singer, musician, hip hop dancer, interpretive dancer,
 discipleship team, painter,
Hula dancer & even a body builder,
show God's love through their giftings/ministry.
It may not be your cup of tea
but
THAT'S what I LOVE about the Lord, he works OUTSIDE the box.
He uses ANY willing vessel.
NO MATTER your past
or mistakes.

He uses the everyday person,
each one of us to be his hands and feet,
to serve those in need.

That's why this minister was a great encouragement to us.
He too was an ordinary person,
went through some difficult life situations
turned to the Lord,
now raps, feeds the hungry,
travels to foreign countries,
 brings encouragement, hope
and now
water in the name of the Lord.
If you're so inclined to give to his upcoming Ghana mission trip,
 you can donate HERE
NOW for the other part of his ministry.....
He "spit a rhyme" for us,
left us with 'cha cha cha'
and
hopefully you're NOT offended by this,
 ' THE DEVIL'S A PIMP
DON'T BE HIS H* '
I told you he was a rapper!

Hubby got the shirt to remember NOT to be the devil's h*
lol

COLOR ME STAMPED!

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2012

We have started our home improvement projects.
Took over a year to start,
talked more about it than anything,
 but
nonetheless, started it.
You'll see what I mean at the end.

So, I
NEEDED
something fun, simple & quick.

Here's THIS week's inspiration :)

MICHAEL'S has some great ideas and this one I was completely prepared for.
*I'm a little partial,
see a LOOOONG time ago I worked for a Michael's store.
I knew the store like the back of my hand.
No surprise as I was their ordering specialist for a good while.
I ordered everything that was needed,
worked with vendors,
stocked the goods to my heart's content
and made some great friends.
I loved it!
New products,
sale/clearanced items,
inside knowledge on availabilty,
AND
employee discounts,
WHO wouldn't love it?! :)
That's how my craft addiction thrived. lol

But that was many moons ago.
Babies came around, my love grew somewhere else and my crafts happily got boxed.
Ahhh, babies are so wonderful.

Anyway, its only been in the last few years that my creativity has really sparked again.
So, all my boxed goodies are making a comeback!

HERE'S TO CREATIVITY!
My REVIVED creativity, that is.

HAPPY GO LUCKY GREEN ------->black skirt

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2012
Would you say its true that,
anytime you wear an "abundance" of color;

found online
a loud/wild print;

found online
a bright/deep shade;

found online
 some funky shoe;
(all exaggerations of course)
or
even something unlike your typical style,
you have to have a level of confidence to pull it off?

How about trying something new,
putting yourself out there,
or
challenging yourself to more?

I think so.
Whether the confidence is real or not, doesn't matter.
That's what I tell M.S. all the time.
I say "own it" and she knows what I mean;
have confidence no matter what,
even if you're still figuring it out.

The clothing we see on others may be "different",
totally not your style,
or just unexpected.......
BUT
if a person wears it with confidence
YOU
accept it.
NOT because you like it
because the confidence the person displays wins you over.

Or at least makes you wish you were as confident lol

RIGHT?!
Truthfully,
our clothes don't make us,
at least not the core of who we are.
Our character and integrity do,
along with the God given gifts, talents & strengths.

sidenoteClothes DO help, I'm not denying that.
I feel more confident when I present myself properly.
But I also know its not JUST the clothes,
for me its pride in the redo's I've done and in who God's made me.

If I'm confident,
NO MATTER what I'm wearing,
 I've already won.

WHY?
Because you and I have value separate from our clothes.
If we strive to grow and be more of who we want to be,
confidence reveals itself within us and is evident to others.

Imagine you're a gift,
the wrapping, a nice covering,
but not the prize,

 what's inside is.

 I know this because
the God who made you & I
 DIDN'T make trash.
He made beauty.

So skip the approval test:
compliment= pass
Silence= fail

and grab yourself some confidence!

CHECK IT OUT
A great book, one I have yet to read.
CELEBRATE YOUR CONFIDENCE!
Push the limits of your comfort zone
and
GO WILD!!!

Well, don't go crazy,
it was just for dramatic effect.
haha

Ok, I didn't go wild but I did go  GREEN.

NOT
Goblin
Grinch
Oscar the grouch
green
but a
Jolly Giant
Heimlich
Kermit the frog
HAPPY GO LUCKY
kind of
 GREEN
:)
