DIY BIB NECKLACE

SUNDAY, JANUARY 29, 2012

diy bib necklace, denim necklace, rit dye denim,

My family has been dealing with an ongoing situation
but PRAISE GOD, it IS much better!

These 2 scriptures encouraged me :)

Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. Hebrews 11:1 NLT
AND
Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.  For you know that when you faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. James 1:2,3 NLT

This weekend we stopped at our local Mexican market for some of these delicious treats,

Mexican pastries/sweet bread, better known as Pan Dulce
It's not as sweet as other pastries but just as delicious with a glass of cold milk,
 coffee or Mexican hot chocolate.

Their selection of individual sized cakes, cupcakes, custards, choco covered apples, strawberries & bananas, cheesecakes,Tres leches (3 milks)cake, eclairs
 AND my fave FLAN!!!

Of course NONE of which I could have lol
What a tease!

We broke our fast the 22nd
but
I got right back on the 23rd in response to my family's situation.
SO....the bread was ONLY for my fam.

BUT I did get a treat too....
A HUGE container of my favorite fresh salsa, SPICY but oh soo good.
Runny nose but don't care, kind of good haha.

OK, onto what I worked on this week.

POLKA DOT SKIRT & JANE!?

SUNDAY, JANUARY 15TH, 2012

Yay, no more cushion work!

I finally got a chance to work on something for me this weekend. Friday night the fam and I got some Redbox movies and as we watched, I got to start this week's redo.

I went to the thrift store earlier in the week, looking for more items to redo. I was specifically looking for something to wear for my upcoming birthday, but I'll get to that next week.
For now, this is the dress I worked on.

DRESS- $1.98 thrifted
I'll get to "JANE" at the end of the post :)

TRIBAL CUSHION COVERS

FRIDAY, JANUARY 13, 2012

Ok, I have to say that my sis has a way of volunteering, suggesting, "signing" me up for things, LIKE this redo. I know she means well and must think I can do it lol

She approached me the 1st week of January about a "simple" project for her friend, which I thought was going to be on a small scale.
I had no idea what it was going to entail.
I'm not confident enough to start taking on people's requests as I'm a total amateur, both in the unskilled and  just for fun not for profit kind of way.

Well...this was for profit.
AHHH, I freaked!
That meant perfect, professional sewing.
I don't know either!

As I tried to weasel my way out, explaining why I COULDN'T, she said her friend didn't care about perfection, she had liked my previous work.
Yes...this same friend had already come to me about some pillow cases over a year ago.

I agreed.
All along reminding myself,
I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST
I CAN
I CAN
I CAN

HERE GOES!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! CORDUROY PANTS

SUNDAY, JANUARY 1, 2012
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

We spent the afternoon (12/31) with the kids at the park, they rode their bikes while we walked behind them. I got to take a few pictures of the scenery, which I love to do.  Later on at home, we relaxed, watched some movies and I eventually got to the redo.

Hubby and I stayed up to ring in the new year and started talking about 2012.  M.S. got home about that time, so she joined our conversation and we all discussed what we were believing God for in our lives, families and church.

I'm excited for what 2012 holds.  Knowing that when you position yourself for change, growth, ingenuity, creativity and knowledge, God can do anything.
We're giving God the canvas of 2012, letting Him direct our steps for this coming year and living with expectancy! I can't wait to see the picture he paints, how 2012 unfolded and where we will be a year from now.

CAN'T WAIT!!!

PS. we didn't go to bed until 2am and had church in the morning!!

OK this weekend I worked on some Corduroy pants I thrifted recently. I hadn't owned anything other in corduroy, since my black jacket I got a few years back and seemed like an easy fix. Truthfully, after the long days during Christmas, I was ready to take on something simple.
